The thermal expansion valve is a closed container composed of a temperature-sensing package, a capillary tube, and a sensing film. It is installed at the entrance of the evaporator and plays a throttling role. When the high-temperature and high-pressure liquid refrigerant passes through the throttling hole of the expansion valve, it will become a low-temperature and low-pressure atomized hydraulic refrigerant, creating conditions for the evaporation of the refrigerant. At the same time, it also plays a role in controlling the refrigerant flow, which is directly related to the refrigeration effect of the refrigeration system.

When the refrigeration effect of the refrigeration system is not good, many people will think that the expansion valve has failed and think that it can be adjusted. In fact, there are many reasons for the poor refrigeration effect of the refrigeration system, such as insufficient or excessive refrigerant in the refrigeration system, failure of the solenoid valve, or mismatch between the compressor function and the system, etc. When it is determined that none of the above problems exist, and the compressor also makes noise, it is necessary to check the thermal expansion valve.


It is common for the expansion valve to fail. If it is just blocked, it can be cleaned. If the adjustment function is lost, a new expansion valve needs to be replaced.
